A useful section of genuine content to help our guest.

Welcome to DiscoverSea Shipwreck Museum. I would like to introduce you to our museum located in Fenwick Island, Delaware; a perfect destination for all your group tour needs. You have been chosen as one of the select Motor Coach Tour Operators to receive our "hot off the press" DiscoverSea Shipwreck Museum group tour newsletter. As you will soon see we have a lot to offer.

First, a little about our museum. We are located on Bayard Street and Coastal Highway, just seven blocks from the Ocean City, Maryland / Delaware State Line. Delmarva's maritime past of shipwrecks and piracy is vividly brought back to life here at DiscoverSea Museum. The museum features an ever-changing "edutainment" exhibit. It houses one of the most comprehensive collections of shipwreck artifacts on the Delmarva Peninsula. There are thousands of items on display ranging from gold and silver bars, coins, weapons, china and items used aboard early day sailing ships. Our working lab will help to educate guests of all ages about the aspects of treasures from our ocean's depths.

SAMPLE ITINERARY

We have done numerous types of tours, lectures, and outreach programs in the past. We have put together programs ranging from simple narrated hands-on tours of the museum, beach treasure hunts, and lectures to week-long Road Scholar programs on marine archaeology. We are very proud of our multi-maritime museum program, which allows your clients to visit multi-site maritime museums in a single day trip. Below you will see an example itinerary for this type of program. When planning, please remember that you may spend as much or as little time at each site as you see fit. We are happy to say that most of our past groups doing this program, have spent more time at DiscoverSea because of the interesting narrated tours that they have received.

AFTER YOUR VISIT

After your visit to our museum, take time to enjoy the romance of Fenwick Island and Bethany Beach, which are among the coastal towns near Delaware's southern border known as the "Quiet Resorts". Along this strand, there are several quaint communities with their own unique character, and miles of pristine beaches, bays, and wildlife preserves that provide a sanctuary for those who desire escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Beautiful shorebirds, wildlife, and beaches will transform you into another place and time.

Fenwick Island also boasts the Fenwick Island Lighthouse. Built in 1858, it stands majestically at the southern edge of the Island. Earlier in Fenwick's history, a team of surveyors ran the 1751 Trans-peninsular Line from east to west across Delmarva. The first stone set by those surveyors still rests in the center of the lighthouse property. DiscoverSea Shipwreck Museum would like the opportunity to educate your groups more about the wonderful Maritime Heritage along the Delmarva Coast.
